Bus terminology

Passenger transport by bus is divided into:

- city and suburban passenger transport,

- Local passenger and intercity passenger transport,

- service passenger transport,

- Tourist and passenger transportation.

Organize city, suburban and intercity bus traffic on certain routes, depending on the size and direction of passenger traffic. The route is divided into permanent and seasonal, routine, rapid and shortened.

By regular route, the bus moves from the beginning to the last point, all sites.

On the fast route, the bus keeps moving at some intermediate point, and the speed of the message increases.

In the most traffic-intensive areas, shortened routes are introduced into the “peak” period.

During peak hours, the work of organizing buses at regular intervals is also used, as well as the provision of one-time buses at the beginning and end of the work of businesses that are not suitable for the scheduled bus.

At the end of the route, the rest and replacement of the bus crew is provided to control the work of the bus.

The intermediate point (site) is located near the place where passenger transportation is concentrated, that is, industrial enterprises, institutions, stations, railway stations, parks, stadiums, etc.

The distance between city sites is 300-500 meters, and the distance between suburbs is 1 km or more.

Each bus stop is equipped with a standard hand that is mounted on the walls of the building, on poles or on shelves.

The middle point should be equipped with an awning, waiting for passengers, as well as a field line - a closed pavilion.

Establish stations or stations at the end and intermediate points of intercity communication.

In the initial, final and intermediate stops of the city and suburban bus routes, the bus schedule and route plan for the day are marked.

At the stop of the suburban route, if the movement interval is more than 20 minutes, the release schedule of the bus arriving and leaving at the stop is issued.

Publish all bus schedules on the bus stop (station) and city bus routes, passenger and baggage transport fare tables, bus layout layout, main rules of “passenger and baggage transport rules”, ticket office starts And announcement of the end time.

The speed of the message is determined by dividing the path traveled by the bus while moving and stopping at the intermediate point. This depends on the design and operational characteristics of the bus, the road conditions and the frequency of the intermediate bus stops on the line.

The route is the route from the initial to the last stop of the bus. The time required for a bus to fly includes the travel time of the flight and the idle time of the middle and last station.

The traffic zone is the time between the bus stops that follow each other on the same route.

The frequency of the bus is the number of buses passing through a certain point in the water direction within one hour.

For a route, the frequency of movement is determined by dividing 60 minutes by the movement interval. The minimum number of buses: city line - 5 -6 and suburban lines - 2-3 shuttles per hour.

The fill rate or passenger ratio is determined by dividing the number of passengers on the bus by the total number of seats (including the standing position). In order to increase this ratio, the movement of roads on the roads must be organized in strict accordance with the timetable (schedule).

Transport work vehicles are calculated on a passenger-kilometer basis. The hourly performance of the bus (through -km / h) is equal to the product of the number of passengers on the bus and the speed of operation.

The number of passengers on the bus is equal to the number of seats multiplied by the fill rate. The hourly productivity can also be obtained by dividing the productivity of each flight by the time it takes to fly once.

The operation mode of the bus is determined according to the conditions that meet the needs of the population. Therefore, the starting and ending points of the bus on the route must take into account the needs of night shifts and night shift services, trains, airplanes, arrival and departure of ships. In the city, traffic usually runs from 6 am to 1 am

The improvement of public services depends to a large extent on the regularity of the bus. The RSFSR Road Transport Department introduced a regularity factor that should be used as an assessment of the passenger service culture.

For the regularity of the message, it must be released on the line in strict accordance with the plan. When developing the bus release schedule and the driver's work schedule, it must be remembered that the bus staff should work for 7 hours and the maximum travel time allowed on the line should not exceed 10 hours and 30 minutes (excluding Lunch break).

In order to retain monthly driver working time funds, it is necessary to work alternately along the shortened and regular routes.

The movement of the bus on the route should be carried out strictly on time. The following timetable has been developed: a comprehensive route of urban (suburban) information and long-distance information; terminal and intermediate stations; work, each driver is executed when leaving the garage or control room.

At the back of the work schedule is a bus route map showing the dangers.

In cities with two or more passenger transport companies, buses are managed by a central dispatching station (CDS) and in a city with a passenger transport company, a dispatching team of the corporate operations department, or a passenger transport service of the transport department.

The main tasks of dispatch management are: controlling the timely release of buses, the operation of each route, the filling of buses, the redistribution of buses operating between routes, the traffic control when buses deviate from timetables, and the intercity buses. Information on available seats; take measures to provide technical assistance to buses on the line; report transportation.
